Food fit for a prime minister

For those of you who follow us on Instagram, you may have seen that we had a rather esteemed guest in recently – none other than former prime minister Theresa May! It was a real honour for the team to serve her. She has been a fan of our cooking for years, so it was great to see her in our new home.

Speaking of honoured, we’re chuffed to have had the critics in from the Oxford Mail, who gave us a brilliant review for an “exceptional dining experience”. We’re over the moon to have received such glowing praise.

In other news, it came as a bit of a surprise when my thoughts on fish and chips hit the nationals recently. I actually love a good fish and chip shop, it’s just that I feel we all need to be doing our bit to prioritise sustainable sourcing and good quality ingredients.

Meanwhile, we’ve opened our secret courtyard round the back of the restaurant, which means even more outdoor space to enjoy the warmer weather this summer, as well as a new set of menus. As a special treat to our subscribers, if you head over there and mention, ‘I love fish and chips’, we’ll take 10% off your drinks bill.

We’ve also got a new tasting menu on the go – it’s five courses for £75, which we think is great value for the quality of food we’ve got on offer. A quick note on which – we’re extending our opening times and will now be open every day except Sunday evenings.
